About
Dating advice that isn’t written by someone selling you a personality.
Dead Set Dating publishes written guides for blokes who are doing everything the internet told them to and still getting nothing. No coaching calls, no community, no guru. Just the stuff that changes the result, written down properly.
Why this exists
Search “how to get more matches” and you get two things. Blogs written by people who have never opened Hinge, recycling “just be yourself” for the ten thousandth time. And pickup content that treats women like a lock to be picked.
Neither of those is useful to a bloke sitting on the couch on a Tuesday with a dead match list. What is useful is knowing which photo goes in slot one and why, what a prompt answer needs to do to earn a reply, and what to send after she says something boring. That is what we write.
Everything is a one-off purchase. Read it, fix your profile in an afternoon, get on with your life. If a guide has done its job you should never need to buy anything from us again.
Where the advice comes from
Two sources, and we keep them separate. First, what is demonstrably true about how the apps behave: which parts of a profile people actually respond to, what a like with a comment does compared to a bare like, how the photo count changes the outcome.
Where a claim rests on published research, we name the research and link it, so you can go and read it yourself. The recurring ones are the 2016 Tinder field study by Tyson et al., Pew Research’s work on dating apps, Photofeeler’s photo-rating research, Hinge’s own published data, and YouGov’s Australian dating research.
Second, judgement. Which of that actually matters, in what order, and how to do it on a Tuesday night without a photographer. That part is opinion, and it gets written as opinion, not dressed up as a statistic. If we do not know a number, we do not invent one.
Who it’s for
Blokes roughly 25 to 38, on Hinge, Bumble or Tinder, who are normal. You have a job, mates, a haircut you are mostly happy with. In person you do alright. On the apps you are invisible, and nobody has ever told you why.
Written from Australia, so the examples are pubs, footy and the Melbourne coffee thing rather than American college bars. The mechanics travel fine. A dead prompt answer is dead in Perth and in Peckham.
Not for you if you want someone to do it for you, or if you are after a girlfriend by Friday. This is homework, and it works about as fast as homework works.
The guarantee
Every guide comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee. Buy it, read the whole thing, do the work. If your results have not shifted, email info@deadsetdating.com within 30 days and you get your money back. No form, no interrogation, no “prove you tried”.
You keep the PDF either way. Chasing a file back off someone over $37 is a mug’s game, and the guarantee only means anything if it is easy to use.
The full terms are in the terms, and what we do with your email address is in the privacy policy.
What we don’t do
Worth being blunt about, because most of the industry does all four.
No pickup lines
Scripts that only work on someone who has not heard them before are not a strategy. You get openers that fit the profile in front of you, and the reasoning behind them, so you can write your own.
No manipulation
Nothing here is built on negging, mind games or wearing a woman down. The enemy is bad advice, not women. If a tactic only works because she has not clocked it yet, it is out.
No subscriptions
You buy a guide, you own the guide. No monthly fee, no locked chapters, no upsell ladder that ends in a $2,000 coaching package.
No AI headshots
The whole point of a profile is that she recognises you when you walk into the pub. A generated face is a wasted first date at best.
Who runs this
Dead Set Dating is a small Australian business, run as a sole trader. One bloke writing the guides, answering the emails and pressing send on the refunds. That is the whole operation.
Got a question about a guide, an order, a refund, or something you reckon we got wrong in an article? Email info@deadsetdating.com and you will get a reply from a human. Corrections welcome, especially if you can point at the evidence.

Read a bit before you spend a cent.
The blog covers the same ground as the guides, just less organised. If it is useful, the paid stuff is the same voice with the whole system in order.
